Community – The OBKC

The OBKC™ adheres to and practices strict rules, regulations and codes in hopes to transcending the American Bully and Exotic Bully breeds to higher heights. We have provided guidelines and regulations for OBKC™ Breeders, Exhibitors and Fanciers to follow. We strongly advise that the OBKC™ community practice the following guidelines to guarantee a much more conducive environment amongst Breeders, Exhibitors and their dogs.

ARTICLE III. OBKC™ REGULATIONS

Section 1- OBKC™ SPORTSMANSHIP

Section 1.01- BREEDING & EHIBITION SPORTMANSHIP

Breeders and exhibitors will respect the history, traditions and integrity of The OBKC™.
Breeders and Exhibitors will commit themselves to the values of honor, respect, selfless service, fair competition, as well as winning and losing with class.
Breeders and Exhibitors of The OBKC™ refuse to compromise their commitment and obligation to The OBKC™ by allowing personal gain to influence their decisions or behavior.
The OBKC™ judge judges on the earned OBKC™ merits of the dogs, Exhibitors and Breeders and considers no other factors.
The OBKC™ Breeder, Exhibitor and Judge accepts constructive criticism by their peers, the public and team members of the OBKC™.
The OBKC™ exhibitor declines to participate under a judge where it may appear that there is a chance the judge’s choices could be established from something other than the earned OBKC™ merits of the breeder, exhibitor or dogs.
The OBKC™ breeder and exhibitor declines to compromise the integrity of an OBKC™ judge.
The OBKC™ breeder and exhibitor respects the OBKC™ standards, rules & regulations governing The OBKC™.
Breeders and Exhibitors welcome, encourage and support newcomers to The OBKC™.
OBKC™ breeders are willing to share honest evaluations of both the strengths and weaknesses of their brood stock.
OBKC™ breeders and exhibitors will not take for granted the OBKC™ positions that may be offered or bestowed upon them.
OBKC™ Breeders and Exhibitors will always place the welfare of their dog(s) as one of their highest priorities.
OBKC™ Breeders and Exhibitors refuse to embarrass the sport of creating purebred American Bullies, The Original Bully Kennel Club™, or themselves while taking part in the registry.

Section 2- OBKC™ BREEDING

Section 2.01- BREEDING ETHICS

The OBKC™ advocates responsible breeding with the intents of transcending fairly new breeds (American and Exotic Bully) to heights never before seen. We strive to breed and exhibit only the most superlative dogs within our registry. Here are some rules and ethics OBKC™ breeders are urged to abide by. The OBKC™ reserves the right to suspend or ban any breeders who breach OBKC™ regulations set forth for the advancement of our breeds and community. OBKC™ reserves the right to add, remove or amend any of the policies, rules or regulations set forth by The Original Bully Kennel Club™.

OBKC™ breeders will first and foremost respect the TRUE HISTORY of the American Bully breed, recognizing that the breed was built by strategically infusing multiple bull breeds together to give birth to the breed as we know it.
OBKC™ breeders will place the health and advancement of the American Bully and Exotic Bully breed ahead of any personal gain or advantage.
OBKC™ breeders will consider the temperament, structure and maturity of a dog before being bred.
OBKC™ breeders will not ABUSE or NEGLECT any dogs.
OBKC™ breeders will consult with seasoned breeders and mentors placed in positions of leadership before breeding, to ensure unparalleled breedings and first-class puppies.
OBKC™ breeders will not breed with the sole purpose of monetary gain, but with the sole purpose of building a solid program that will help carry the breeds forward.
OBKC™ breeders will practice LOYALTY, HONOR, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, DISCIPLINE and SELFLESS SERVICE as a breeder.
- They will display LOYALTY for The OBKC™ and fellow breeders of the OBKC™ at all times, never compromising the integrity of another OBKC™ breeder.
- They will HONOR the ethics, rules, regulations and registration process of The OBKC™ when breeding.
- They will RESPECT the dog(s), fellow breeders, vets and any other persons involved in their breeding.
- They will have the INTEGRITY to do what’s right at all times when breeding and registering OBKC™ dogs.
- They will practice DISCIPLINE when building their program, adhering to a solid vision and completing the task initially set forth by themselves and/or their kennel partners.
- They will practice SELFLESS SERVICE helping novice OBKC™ breeders and seasoned OBKC™ breeders in need of guidance and assistance without judgment or personal perception playing a role in their decision.
OBKC™ breeders will keep all records, documents and pedigrees of brood stock dogs.
Breeders will be critical of their own program by eliminating the dogs that don’t fit into the standards of the OBKC™ or their own breeding program, by pet-homing, spaying or neutering the dog(s).
OBKC™ breeders will make sure all puppy nurseries are properly sanitized and that potty areas outside are properly sanitized, so that the Dam doesn’t bring any bacteria or disease back into the nursery.
OBKC™ breeders will make sure every pup they produce has proper vaccinations and deworming’s before they are sold or transferred.
OBKC™ breeders do not sell or transfer puppies before 8 weeks of age.
When selling or transferring a puppy produced by an OBKC™ breeder be sure to include all documentation to include: notarized contract, pedigree, shot records, vet records, DNA information, microchip information and any other document of importance.

OBKC™ Breeders and Exhibitors are expected to follow all rules, regulations and standards of The OBKC™. Any OBKC™ breeder or Exhibitor found to be in violation of the rules and regulations set forth by the OBKC™ are subject to indoctrination.
