HISTORY
The Exotic Bully was originally meant to be a spinoff of the American Bully, but in time became a breed of its own. It is a breed that breeders have developed out of creative expression, using the more overdone features of smaller bulldog breeds like the French Bulldog, Shorty Bull and English Bulldog. The Exotic Bully began to take form in the late 2000’s when a new look (Bowed out elbows and “Smashed muzzles”) caught FIRE on the West Coast. The dogs began to get smaller, more compact, more wrinkled and more bulldoggy by look, thus separating it from the American Bully.
General Impression
The Exotic Bully is still a very young breed and has very little consistency overall. It should either give the impression of a small bulldog with ear croppings or a small American Bully-Faced dog with a bulldog body. The goal of the Exotic Bully is yet to be known. Some believe the perfect exotic has little to no wrinkles, while others believe they have wrinkles from head to toe. As of July 25, 2018, The OBKC™ is building a program to help the breed become the most consistent.
HEAD
The Head on the Exotic Bully is unlike any other breed we host, due to the fact that there are several different desired head types. The OBKC™ looks to narrow these options down within the next 5 years. Head types range from small and round to broad and squared. Head types range from many wrinkles to very tight skinned dogs.
